Pictures for triptych/planning for pictures

I will book the photo studio on Thursday 27 September. The time I will book the studio out is at 10:45. This will allow me to have a 2 hour space to take the pictures I need and get the accurate pictures needed for my triptych. This would make me need to edit less so I can show the actual picture quality without needing to edit and take the natural glow out of the picture.

The things I booked out were:

The photography studio,

A camera,

Tripod,

Lights *2

I positioned the lights on the left side of the model and one on the right hand side. This allowed my subject to be lit up from both sides as if my model has one light facing them they would have a shadow on the other side of their body. But if I had used both lights I can have my subject bright on both sides and I didn’t want people to think that I was trying to show that my subject was in pain on one side and happy on the other side. I had to adjust the lighting so that the shadow isn’t shown on the white background.

This made it harder for me to get the accurate lighting as I had to adjust the lights and the model as it would have been hard to only move one and struggle to get the accurate lighting. So I had made my subject stand in one area so that I only had to adjust the lights and nothing else. The area I made him stand in was the centre of the backdrop. Also 1 metre and a half in front of me so I can get the full face in the picture including his top half of the body.

I faced a few issues when it came to using the camera as it didn’t allow me to focus properly so I had to use different modes on the camera to get the camera to focus on the subject. The lens was sent on manual mode as it wasn’t focusing properly on auto mode. I also had to change the camera mode from manual mode to portrait mode as portrait mode gave me more focus than the manual and auto focus.

I also was playing music in the photography studio which allowed my model enjoy their time there and want to come back again and allow me to take pictures for them.

After taking the pictures I had put them all onto my camera which I could now edit and put onto my triptych. This would make it easier for me to edit as I know where the location of the file is and where I can save my edited pictures. This would allow me to edit pictures knowing that my files are saved in a few places if anything is lost due to a system failure or me accidently deleting my files or my personal file in my college getting a complete wipe due to system failure.

Visual experimentation

This is the layout i will be using for my design for my triptych. As this will be showing going from a high point to a low point than fixing things which went wrong than going to a high point in life again.This will show that even if you are going through serious things in life you can always fix it and get through everything that puts you down.

Actions Photoshop

My first picture is of a Mercedes Amg. I had to use the actions panel on Photoshop to apply a black and white show onto the picture. Than i went onto the internet to find some actions people have created and i had found a 3D one that someone made. So i had downloaded it and put it into my work and played it. This made the car have a 3D look due to the action. This made the picture turn gray and red this is because of the 3D effect. This effect causes all the pictures to have a reddish and grayish background and outline of the picture.
